Only U.S. atrocities make it to film

I have only seen U.S. Atrocities being put on film. The 1970's were full of TV episodes about deranged Vietnam Veterans. at least one TV episodes per week had that as the theme. Of course there were the movies like this one. Sure there were atrocities committed by U.S. soldiers-My Lai and this incident, but they were few and far between. How about a movie about the TET offensive and how the NVA and Viet Cong killed thousands of civilians in HUE and buried them in mass graves. How about a movie about the NVA and the Viet Cong going into villages and killing the village leader, his wife, his children, his brothers and sisters and his parents. Then rounding up and murdering ANYONE they believed was not on their side. There were HUNDREDS of thousands of civilians killed by the Communists but Hollywood turns a blind eye to this because they are committed Leftists who saw the Communists as the good guys and, like Lenin (their God), said "You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs" and "the end justifies the means". To those like Oliver Stone, Jane Fonda and Michael Moore the deaths of millions doesn't matter when trying to make the World into a socialist World.

From wikipedia:
The documents are housed by the United States National Archives and Records Administration, and detail 320 alleged incidents that were substantiated by United States Army investigators (not including the 1968 My Lai Massacre).

How about you try to make your point without getting political about "socialists?" You come off as an idiot. Sorry; no nicer way to say it.

I think his greater point is that the focus of war crimes amongst Americans tend to focus on the American military when the greater crimes are committed by the opposition.

And how about Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Instead of viewing this as a "US" atrocity, why not just view it as a "human atrocity"? Of course this particular incident is shown on film here - it's a movie about Americans and made in America. It makes sense. But stuff like this (and other horrible atrocities) have been committed by every culture, every race, and in every country on earth. No matter what chunk of the world population you look at, there's going to be a select few that are just bad apples.

I don't take this film to be saying anything bad about Americans or US soldiers at all. I just take it for what it is - 1 specific story that was told about an awful incident that happened. Instead of being offended that filmmakers made a movie about the incident, be offended that fellow human beings have the capacity to be so sh***y to one another and do what you can to not be one of those people.

Well the war wasn't that of revenge it's purpose was to prevent communism from spreading, assist in liberating the south from being captured from the north
Also it's rather hypocritical for Americans to commit such atrocities, it's not what the country was suppose to stand for. War is hell, what they did has been a common practice for millenniums but they're in a time and country where they so rightfully say "No we don't do that"

Why rationalize something that is not meant to be rationalized ??
War, especially Vietnam was very brutal and there were war crimes every day. This is a story that happened to go national. If you speak with any veteran of any war and they will speak about it then you would hear tens of thousands of stories like this and worse. War is ugly and makes people do ugly things. The simple truth is it's obviously not only American soldiers but any countries militaries who do the same and in most cases a lot worse . Most countries are not as disciplined as the U.S. And domesticated countries. Mostly the people like Isis and such are straight up savages !!!

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

The movie you, @krspas2, are waiting for, is a movie to be made by vietnam movie makers. Meanwhile, you and me, you in your country and me in mine, we enjoy living in countries in which our movie makers are allowed to talk about war crimes committed by our ancestors. And we pity a little bit the people living in countries in which they don't get the chance to be critical towards their history, their government, their war crimes.

English is not my first language. Any corrections are welcome.
