DVD edited?

Just wondering if anyone out there knows if there is any difference between the VHS and DVD. Thanks.

The VHS has to be rewound and takes up more space.

I just purchased the DVD and I was rather unhappy with the quailty.......
or should I say; lack of quality. The picture is grainy. Its not sharp or clear like you would expect from a DVD. It looks like it could have been copied from a videotape or even a VHS. This was NOT an illegal copy. It was store bought, new, and sealed.
There are no special features. The olny extra material is previews of other movies.
I was disappointed, in the picture quality as I am phasing out most of my VHS library and purchasing DVD's of movies I want to keep. I could have copied my VHS and had the samw or possibly a BETTER picture.
I dont know if they are all like this, but I am going to attempt to contact the company that released the DVD and see if there are better copies out there.

I dont recall any differences in the movie, or any edits, but If I can pull out my VHS, I will look more closely.
