David Morrell has announced that Warners have optioned the book for a film remake (whether it will be updated to contemporary times or not remains to be seen).

Also, that CBS have no plans so far for putting the mini onto a DVD, but with the possibility of a film being made will likely turn it into a reality.

love th book (my fave) and the mini was cool too. if successful we can only hope that 'Fraternity' and 'League' get the same treatment.

In other news, his newer book, Creepers has been bought up to for film as has Assumed Identity.

harrowing book that one was - what people wud go to to survive.

Well, the '89 DVD is out, in Sweden at least.
I understand it plays in most regions though, so that's one option.

As for the re-make... PAH. Leave it alone, Hollywood.
Plenty more inspiration still to be mined out there - You *cannot* have run out of ideas already, have you?

I think Hollywood would be fine with a man eating family to survive. After all the prison rape with Oz and Sons of Anarchy, a Hannibal Letter series, a little more cannibalism is no big deal.

I think most men would prefer to die rather than eat their family though. But there was the Donner Pass.
