Premieres on DVD in Sweden

Studio S Entertainment in Sweden has licensed and released "Brotherhood of the Rose" on DVD this week.

It is presented in it's original 1.33:1 aspect ratio and in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo with a running time of 177:24 spread over 2 DVDs. Subtitles are optional and available in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Icelandic. Formatted for PAL and regionfree (despite the cover stating only Region 2). No bonus material.

You can find it through http://www.subdvd.com/ among other places. Search under the Swedish title "Rosens broderskap".

you can also buy it here in denmark on dvd very cheap. you can buy it in a store called dvd city.dk

Subdvd doesn't charge nearly as much for shipping abroad as dvdcity does, so the slight increase in the cost of the dvd Subdvd greatly makes up for in shipping.

Yes you are right, dvd city charge much for shipping, but its strange that we can buy it in sweden and danmark on dvd, when its not released in england or america when its such a good movie.

It happens sometimes, other times it is the other way and one can only find it in US, Asia or some remote place. There are still many shows/series/films unavailable on DVD and they may probably never find their way on any format to buy. In many cases we will have to rely on smaller distributors with an affinity for titles such as this one.

The shipping costs on many Danish sites are a bit over the top, some are on the other hand quite reasonable (Gucca.dk f.ex.). The sites that are English-friendly are few and if they do ship outside of the country, Scandinavia and/or Europe shipping costs are often a dealbreaker. In some cases I might just as well take the ferry across, the cost would be the same.
