Little to fear here

This is a by-the-book thriller with the inevitable twists at the end, yet I was never bored and found this fairly entertaining. Watch it with one eye open, and you might see it the same way. 6/10 stars.

I just got through watching it and I quite enjoyed it as well.

Thanks for the response! I'm very impressed that someone else has actually seen this film! It get rather lonely on these B-movie boards. I find a lot of gems like this in thrift stores, which is where I came across this.

Shelley Hack is a charming actress, and it's too bad she didn't get the roles she deserved.

Yes it is a shame she didn't get the roles she deserved, but she did well here. I found the DVD for just $4 at a local Walgreens.

Wow, this was in the Walgreens pile? I have a lot of those stores near me, as I suspect almost everyone in the U.S. does, but I usually don't look at their DVDs because they seem a bit overpriced with stores like Big Lots and T.J. Maxx having a similar selection for less. But I'll scope Walgreens out now because I've never seen the DVD of this.

reply

Precisely. If you can't find it there however, you can always try Amazon.com. Real cheap on there too. ;)

I just bought the Canadian Malofilm VHS not long ago and backed it up onto a blank DVD-R. Picture quality is actually a lot better than the DVD.

See my blog post here for comparison screencaps:

Thanks for the link. I agree that the picture quality is better on VHS – generally sharper, though some shots are a bit dark.

I first saw this film on cable TV in the early 1990's. I just rewatched it on DVD and it held up pretty well. Shelley Hack made for a credible and sympathetic blind protagonist while Kim Coates has a field day as ruthless criminal ringleader Ed. Moreover, I liked the surprise twists at the end.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
