Movie buffs? Please help!

Hi!

I'm looking for more movies where American culture meets Japanese culture and vice versa.

So far I have:

Black Rain
Mr. Baseball
Gung Ho
The Yakuza
Last Samurai

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I enjoy watching movies about this topic quite a lot. Please only post JAPANESE culture meets American culture. So spare me the Jackie Chan Rush hour flicks. Hahahaha!

Thanks a lot!

NO! Pat Morita's (RIP) character was for the most part Japanese American if you remember he was in the 442 and a medal of honor winner. Also in Karate Kid 2 the travel to Okinawa. But if you know Japanese culture Okinawa or its people are not considered Japanese the language is similar but everything else is different. I know this as my hubby is Japanese American and most of my extended family are in Japan where I visit nearly each year. So no this would not be a good comparison but one thing most Americans or Brits do not know is the majority of Japanese people hate the US and UK (Non Asians or Caucasians mainly) extremely. I slide a bit as I am German born and raised. But even tho I am married to a Japanese fellow, speak, read and write fluently/ I am still looked upon as a outsider and will always be.

Btw NO film is accurate in the way the west thinks Japan is like every film seen is way off base. Watch NKH documentary shows for a look into the real Japan one that NO Gaijin would ever see.

It's not American meets Japanese culture, but a very good film (Australian meets Japanese culture) is 'Japanese Story' with Toni Collette.

The first five movies are connected. Based on true events regarding the Japanese underworld.
