Andy Garcia ruined this one for me

But then to me, he ruins every movie he's in. This was during his I play cocky *beep* characters phase.

He was suppose to be cocky dummy
That was whole point and bc of it he got his head chopped off

As nick says "he should have known better"

Don't get me wrong, Ridley is my favorite director. Andy on the other hand, is one of my least favorite actors "dummy". He did the same thing in Godfather III, Untouchables and god knows what else. I haven't enjoyed his acting since I was a child. Why was he so popular back then? There were so many actors that could have done a better job.....

I don´t Think he got his head chopped of cause he was cocky. Charlie was humble, while a bit Young and full of ---He atleast tried to live by"when in Rome..." and didn´t go around headbutting anyone who didn´t agree with him. He was naive and showy, read cocky, cause his most outstanding charactertrait is playing Matador with people on bikes and the first time we see this,we have a feeling we´ll see it agai...and not in a good way. And him running after that guy, hell, even playing chicken with a gangster on a different continent while unarmed...let´s call his behaviour out of character to fit the plot to put it mildly.

Still Think Garcia did a good job and seeing that deathscene at a Young age gave me nightmares. It still is a dark, intense scene and in a way,I agree...Garcia ruined it for me too, cause when his head hits the gutter, alot of energy goes with him and Douglas couldn´t carry this one on his shoulders IMO,despite doing a good job. Shoud´ve killed Charlie in the last 20 or so.

And Garcia and Liotta are the most underrated actors in forever who had potential to go DeNiro,Pacino and their careers just Went to shi....yes,careers can go to shi- cause you are untalented or just bad timing, not aging well etc. Still,Things to in Denver will make anyone a Garciabeliever.

Calling people dumb for having a different opinion than you. That must mean you are right.

He had some of the best lines! The first time I was in Tokyo with a friend of mine, we were walking around Ginza looking for a hotel and I'd spout out, "What do I look like I work at the fúckin UN?"

"My father worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay"

I think it's pretty clear that his character is supposed to be gay. Perhaps a parody of a homosexual. Lines like "watch your tail" reinforce that. He was a metrosexual, at least, spending a fortune for his wardrobe on a cop salary.

He was likeable in this movie

Have to agree there. Although it is also because his character was so badly written. He never rose past the dummy buddy, comic relief sidekick level, whatever you wanna call it.

And his death was frankly pathetic. I mean, really? You... you are gonna jump head first into that trap? Ok cool. Oohhh, you thought you were being pranked by that motorcyclist, huh? Yeah, you never know when a playful motorcyclist will show up for some surprise quality time, amirite? It's like dogs when they see each other and start to play and wag the tail. It's not like you have already been threatened the day before by some dudes on bikes. If that was the case, you wouldn't have fallen for it, because you're obviously not stupid 

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs
