The Short Films featured at the awards ceremony at the first of this movie were absolutely hilarious. Woderfully absurd and just absolute spot-on parodies of the college student short film.

What about the film by the son of the agent with all the stars in it. When he zooms in on Stephen Collins and then adjusts the camera because he missed him...that had me laughing out loud!

Yes - the dialogue was also awful, camera technique (as you said) was dreadful, and the "gauze on the lens" shots of poor dear June Lockhart. How fitting that his father eventually made him an agent.

I think Nick's short film also spoofs David Lynch's "Eraserhead".
