Martin Short

Martin Short plays more than just a bit part, and is halarious. I'm sure that he and Christopher Guest were (are) buddies after working together on SNL afew years earlier and that's maybe why he appeared in the film, but I wonder why he isn't given a credit?

"...but I wonder why he isn't given a credit?"

Because he didn't want to be credited. His agent was trying to position him for leading roles and felt supporting parts worked against this. Martin and many members of the cast appeared in the film (for scale) because of their relationship with Chris.

Martin Short and Christopher Guest both on SNL, so that's the connection! I was wondering why his role was uncredited and now I know it was him doing a friend a favor. Just an example of just how close to the mark this movie is to the reality of how a Hollywood film is put together.

Short's memoir I Must Say came out this past week and he discusses this. He says he kind of regrets his no-billing decision on this film.

Just caught the last of this and swore it looks Kathy Griffin after her "adjustments". Still very funny.

I feel like this character was a prototype for Jiminy Glick.
