“Big Man On Campus” was a brilliant film, it’s funny, its clever, it’s off the wall, its poignant, it’s my sort of movie, so please, please, please re-release it! I know there is a high demand for this film to be re-released on DVD here in the UK. So when can we expect to see it on region 2 DVD in our UK shops?

I am actually looking for 4 copies of it -- as long as the quality is decent I don't mind that it is copied from VHS.
My 3 brother inlaws and husband have been waiting for it on DVD for years. I would love to give it to them all on Christmas. I know it is soon but is it possible?

Lionsgate entertainment owns the rights to the movie. Let's get on Facebook and blast them until they decide to put it out.
sharehello there olivia nice to read ya comments, but however the original print of the film was burnt in a studio fire which has made it a bit difficult to transfur to dvd.
because the film is so un-heard of,the film company wont invest in cleaning the print up off of the vhs tapes(not worth there time).
so...... not a very good chance of this title coming to the dvd format anytime soon.

I have it on dvdr from vhs is anyones wants one contact me, no use waiting for the dvd as it will never be released, as Aaron said above the master was pretty much destroyed and they will not spend the money need to press and distribute this on dvd, they figure it will not sell.

Here is the explanation of the fact their is no DVD release from the hairball himself
“Thanks for the kind words. What happened to the film is a long, and now old, story. Vestron went out of business before it was released. They had sold off the foreign rights for cash and then no domestic distributor wanted the film if they didn't have a chance of worldwide profits. So, it sat in a vault for a couple of years, then it showed up on HBO, SHOWTIME, etc. -- and then the Disney Channel. Oddly, while I've discovered that the film has a lot of as you say diehard fans, it never had an afterlife nor did any studios contact me either to write another film or act in one. The dvd can be bought from at least 3 different companies now.
search for big man on campus on the us ebay site and it came up with listings for websites that are selling official "looking" DVDS
Last month I bought this on a completely blank dvd from a site in the US. The casing seemed genuine but home made dvd. Terrible copy too. I paid £12 plus delivery for what looks like a copy of a copy of a copy. Very hazy. However I managed to get a better copy today via torrent. naughty i know but where needs must etc. etc. I'd still rather pay for a good copy though but wouldn't trust ebay after my experience. In fact i wouldn't even try to sell my copy on ebay as I'd be ripping off someone else.
