People need to let this movie go like the Reeve Superman.
Both are good movies that set the standard for superhero films. But they can't go back to the Burton Batman or the Donner Superman anymore these days. Time to move on.

Disagree. Superman II is THE BEST Superman movie to date, bar none. Christophe Reeve is the only serious actor to play Superman. Terrance Stamp, as General Zod, is the best antagonist actor that the Man of Steel has ever had. (Jesse Alexander? Gene Hackman? How about Groucho Marx?) Unlike any other Sups movie baddie, Stamp/Zod had testosterone up the wazzoo. Absent a GREAT antagonist, you have no story. “General, would you care to step outside?” I flat-out f*ing DEFY you to produce a single line from any superhero/comic book movie since that equals that simple, bold invitation.

Richard Donner restored cut or Richard Lester cut? Lester was too stupid and campy especially the cellophane weapon.
I've seen only the Lester version. I'm not that interested in the Richard Donnor cut. From what I've heard it gets rid of the Paris scene at the beginning and I like the Paris scene.
shareI've got both, and whilst a few scenes are almost identical, they've both got enough differences to make them both worth it, for any mood you might be in.
They actually paid homage to that line in the Supergirl show...
There was some evil female Kryptonian woman general and Supergirl used the old 'General, would you care to step outside' line...
Actually, Aaron, that scene was on Legends of Tomorrow, the concluding episode of The CW’s four-part Crossover, Crisis On Earth X, which will always remain on my DVR; but it WAS Supergirl who called out her Fascist Earth X counterpart.
