he was famous by 1990 after wall street, platoon and hotshots. why would he take such a tiny role ? ive seen extras with more lines.

He knows what he is doing: got paid to spend time with a naked Jodie Foster. Probably found a way into her trailer too.

Not hardly. It was well known in Hollywood, even that early in her adult career, that she "played for the other team."

And in the version I saw (SPOILER:) he gets shot by the hitmen and in the next scene his girlfriend is sitting at the police station totally relaxed never mentioning or referring to him again. This is a weird movie.

The only explanations are (a) a lot more scenes left on the cutting room floor, or (b) just wanted to work with Dennis Hopper THAT BADLY.

Dennis Hopper and Charlie Sheen are both insane, maybe they bonded over drugs or women or insanity. My guess is Charlie was doing him a favor.
