Horrible movies

Part 1 will forever be a classic. I forgot what I saw that reminded me of part 2 and 3, but I decided to watch part 2 last night because I hardly remember it.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. There are way too many things too mention. Absolutely horrible. How in the world does this movie have a high rating?

The real 2015 sure was a let down..lol.

reply

What?? Part 2 is better than part 1. Next would be part 3. Then the making of part 2. Then the deleted scenes of 2&3.
THEN it's part 1 !!

First we need back to the future 2.1 or is that still a thing?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I imagine you're in a small minority. The first film was designed as a stand-alone film with no plans for a sequel, so it's quite a different animal to the sequels.

After the huge success of the first one, parts 2 and 3 were produced together, and the budget and every other part of the film making would have been done quite differently, and perhaps a little rushed.

I personally love how they revisit the past and see themselves going back in time the first time, it's crazy fun! The third was a lot of fun also.

One of the worst movies you've ever seen? Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration? You obviously haven't seen very much movies. There are thousands of movies out there tens times worse than this movie.

What exactly is bad about this movie? I love it, it's very well done and it's hilarious! It deserves the high rating it has. It's just as good as the first one imo. It may even be my favorite of all 3 parts.

I can understand you saying you don't like it, but saying it's the worst movie ever? No. Come on.

reply

You loved it! Just admit you loved it.

I also think the second movie is absolute crap compared to the first one. So disappointing!

reply

I agree this movie is lazy, rushed garbage. The only purpose it serves is so Marty will have a hoverboard to use in the third movie. Pointless waste of time, otherwise.

reply

Oh I agree. The sequels are just horrendous. They almost ruin the first film they're so bad. The classic should have been left alone. Also, shooting a sequel nearly five years after the first film where the male lead is supposed to be a ''teen'' is ridiculous. Michael J Fox looked right at 30 by the end of the films. Goodness.

Wuuuut?

I can understand seeing them as lesser movies than the original, but horrendous and some of the worst movies ever?

Yeah, that’s gotta be a no for me dawg. Glad BTTF2 exists and in no way did it dishonor the original.

reply

"no way did it dishonor the original."

-Considering that Doc and Marty's reason for travelling into the future at the beginning completely negates the message of the first movie and creates a plot hole big enough to fit in a whole fleet of DeLoreans side by side, dishonouring the original is putting it lightly. The film has many other glaring problems, this is only scratching the surface.

dishonouring the original is putting it lightly

Well, you and the OP certainly feel that way. And I’m sure others do, too. But many (including yours truly) feel the exact opposite. Many other glaring problems? I’m honestly not gonna defend any of the plot holes or inconsistencies some claim this sequel suffers from (I myself think the time travel in this one makes little sense and not necessarily in a complex way). But despite these issues... by no means is this still one of the worst movies+sequels ever. And I’ll stick by that.

It's more than just a plot hole issue, I've listed a good chunk of reasons why it's inferior here: https://moviechat.org/tt0096874/Back-to-the-Future-Part-II/5f6c62a5f6f3171e4ef3fc36/Weakest-movie-in-the-trilogy
