How long before you realized this was a bad movie.

How long was everyone sitting through this movie before you realized this was the worst film you've ever seen? I think I lasted until the first joke that stand-up comic made.

"Here I am, rock you like a hurricane"

I think I got a good 3 minutes into it before I realized that not only was this a bad movie, but I just wasted 3 minutes of my life that I will never get back now.

after 15 minutes i thought this sucked, but adam has to do something funny.... 30 minutes, same thing and now im confused as to how nothing redeeming has happened yet. 45 minutes, half way there and this is the worst 45 minutes ever, its like a bad date where you know you should just pack it up and go home, but the hope of sex keeps you there.... 1 hour gone, hoping there is something at the end to make this worth while... the movie ends... and like a bad date, i dont get laid and i go to bed crying.... point being i sat through the whole thing hoping something good would come out of it, and i was wrong.

Well, I got to about 38 minutes in the film, to the part where they were in this guy's office. That's when I started to rip out my hair and I never finished the movie, because I had never sat through anything so completely awful in my entire life.

We love you anyway, Adam.

This might have been the worst movie ever, but does anyone know the title of the song that the "yellowteeth" played, that was actually pretty decent.

I'm still surprised that in what felt like 10-12 hours there was not a single thing that was funny.

i got to the whole, this is what an earthquake would be like bit, shut it off and havnt watched it since.

yeah the box for the movie is pretty bad. Is that like some primitive form of Photoshop they used?

reply

I didn't finsh this film, but I remember renting it 6 or so years ago. It was a new release.

We realised it sucked probably 10min in. Can't remember.

When the credits started to roll and the words "Adam Sandler as 'Going Overboard'" appeared. A blatant typo in the first 30 seconds accompanied by the worst opening song of a film ever... never a good sign. And don't get me started on the animated Adam in the credits. He says nothing, but yet no cartoon has ever annoyed me more.

I remember inserting the tape into the VCR and sitting down with some popcorn and a can of Coors Light. I also somewhat remember a cruise ship and some beautiful babes before everything went black. When I woke up from the coma three years later, the doc said that with a lot of hard work I could learn how to walk again and my sight could return in a year or two. So to answer your question, I realized that it was a bad movie after three years and five minutes (give or take a minute).

At 10 minutes it was back in the rental case...

That start credits idea was just w*nk. A speech bubble with the credits in, the cartoon moving about was cr*p.

Also, THAT music!!! AAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, what's the singer SAYING!!?, and it sounds really seedy and cheap.

reply

I noticed the typo too. It bothered me, but I immediately dismissed it. Then I saw Sandler talking into the camera, but I was expecting a bad movie, so I didn't mind. Then the way he walked up the landing to the boat... sideways with his arms flailing... that I didn't forgive.

This movie sucked because: It was a comedy about someone that isn't funny.

reply

i watched the first half hour twice and i just felt sick
the first time was late at night and i thought the opening credits (with the animated sandler face) were the funniest thing ever
but that song... that terrible song

reply

I was laughnig my ass off when he was walking up on the boat acting like a retard. I laughed even harder when Dick Diamond farted 3 times and then I rewound it to watch it again 5 more times. And then when the movie was over I went back to that scene and watched 5 more times. I also love the part when he's dreaming and he's walking on the beach acting like he's super buff. I didn't like that the main focus of the movie was his stand-up b/c Sandler sucks at stand-up, he's way better when he's making stupid faces and talking funny and that's what I thought the whole movie was going to be about but I still love it anyways.

What else did you do on your 11th birthday besides watch this movie?

I know, I just wanted to get a rise out of you by making such an ridiculous comment.

reply

I put it on and realised after 20 minutes I wasnt even paying attention to it anymore (I was on my laptop too) and it was still irritating me so I turned it off.

You can almost taste the excitement...and the flavour is brick!
