omg the first five times i saw this movie i could not stop laughing. i bought it on dvd and vhs and i've recommended it to all my frends. Going Overboard is the most underrated movie of the century. Lets play the wots ur fav scene game personally my fav scene would hav to b wen the lead actor Godzilla was "going overboard" for the third time. ok lets play!!!!!
yeh i know hey! I don't know why everyone is hammering it so much, its such a great movie. Its got everything: plot, great acting, great locations and its hilarious. Personally i liked the scene wer he's like "hey" and then they reply with somefing i can't remember. but yeh, thats definately my favourite scene, coz it was so memorable and funny.
Liked the part where he said "hey" and then somebody else said something.... So memorable that no one can remember what the hell went on...pure comedy classic genius.
yeh i hav to agree that was one of the best scenes. i also hav trouble remembering wot he sed but it was the most funniest thing ever. did u know that wen the dog did that thing it was actually his stunt double?! yeh so my nxt fav scene would b wen the the second main character told the first main character that the third main character already "knows that i know that she knows" that was hilarious
yeh i noe!! the best thing about this movie (well one of the best coz everyfing about this movie is the best!!!) is that all the jokes can be taken out of context. Also that time when theyre fishing, and hes like "Wow!" and then this guy says something, to which he replies with something. Yeah that was some awesome dialogue. yeh the camera angles wer quite good as well.
Are you guys kidding? This is considered the worst movie of all time. You people must be complete morons if you think this is the best. God, grab a brain and grow up.
Er...we are kidding. For example, it should be obvious that a HDDVD disc cannot in any way be funnier than a Blu Ray version.
I mean, Blu Ray is hilarious - Sony have put an "extra layer" on the Blu Ray discs, I believe it gives the acting a bigger "sound stage" and just generally makes it "funnier" than M$oft's HD discs which are only "single" layer and lost the "comic timing" due to lip sync issues.
Better codecs will soon solve this problem, or temporarily the studios are planning to use Robin Williams for all comic voice overs (note, not Robbie).
Animations wont be affected by the comic timimg lip sync issue though, they dont have real lips, just computer graphics.
Anyway, Going Overbored is funny enough to get by the lip sync issue (with ear defenders or plugs)
Hey Steve, don't you see that Bonds is just trying to be completely ironic, nailing you guys for liking a film that is so *beep* that he knows you can't possibly be serious.
The guy obviously just enoys getting one over on rubes like you and me by making a suggestion like that so we then have to come back on just to point out what he already knows. He must be lauging his head off at this.
Man the Irony, don't you see the genius of it? It probably is Sandler himself disguised as no bit moron posting those lines. I am so in awe of him.
lol at the original *beep* peerce. what a moron. dont you love how there's always one dumb ass that no matter how obviously sarcastic people are being, the one guy is like are u being serious, but then he proceeds to say grab a brain. classic!!!!
Can't wait to see it, but how can I get a copy? When I asked at the video store, the operator just sort of went down on the floor and started rolling around laughing. I suppose he must've seen it before. Anyway the guy staggers off into the back room, and the manager comes out. When the manager hears I want he starts laughing and rolling around too. I was ready to just leave, but the first guy came back holding this bit of melted plastic like a DVD case that's been through the microwave...

I hadn't heard about this movie until i had seen it on the bottom 100 list, so then i checked out this thread, and you've all inspired me to find this movie so i can complain about it in sarcasm and irony too.
yea, this movie was pretty bad....but I did love Yellow Teeths rocking performance of "Slap your Cat"!!! I wanna slap your cat, yeaaayea!!!!! Brilliant
This is one of the best threads of all time because a)people are having fun talking about it and not being so serious and B)there is no mention of how crap America is. Bravo. Oh.....crap......I might have just started something then...
I just got my DVD copy of this movie and it still rocks all these years later. It's sooooo bad that it's good. Really good! Quality campiness. Shecky says at the beginning it's a "NO-BUDGET FLICK" not a "LOW BUDGET FLICK"; so what did you expect? If you didn't think it was funny the first 3x times try drinking along to it next time.
teh besterest part is when a bird poo poo's in teh not nice ladies drink... that made me laff alot, it made me laff so much that if i was on a boat i would have fallen overboard and maybe so would my hat

This film is amazing but was ruined for me when James Cameron remade it 1997, and i think Billy Zane realizes now that he made a mistake by appearing in the remake aswell. He could never portray the character as powerfully as in the original. Thanks.

It is quite a funny film, no way should it be in the bottom 100. It's much better than awful films like Wedding Crashers and Dodgeball anyway. It's more character based comedy rather than random witty lines. I thought that Dickie Diamond was funny, especially his laugh and the part when he said "Where's William Tell when you need him"; that was hilarious lololol.
The film was pretty crappy to be honset with you. That said, i am shallow and blatantly find Adam Sandler compelling, so i managed to sit through it. But christ it is not his best.
Did you notice that on EVERY SINGLE movie in the bottom 100, there is at least 10 threads that argue with what the humans think. By that I mean that these stupid *beep* finks are not human beings, but rather stupid gorillas that failed to get into the zoo.
You'll also notice that all of this thread is just a babble of non-english and 'MSN talk" like all the threads made by these waste-of-spacers.
I think this movie is an all time classic and stands beside other classic comedies like: The Last House On The Left, Friday The 13th, The Matrix and Seabiscuit. However, it certainly wasn't as funny as Hustle And Flow as nothing could ever compete with the funiness.
My favourite part of overboard was when that guy was in the water shouting something and trying to swim but he couldn't swim then he drowned...hahaha, brilliant!
My ribs hurt. I'm laughing so much at this thread. The humour is awesome.
I actually have this DVD in my collection. Funny enough I've only watched it once. It was terrible. However as a result this thread was created, so in a way that film is responsible for making me wet myself for the past 5 minutes.
What an awesome film. 1997 remake was my favourite. Classic.
No-way!! the 1997 version is a travesty. DiCaprio totally hams it up. The original '89 version outguns it in all aspects. If only the original line up would team up again and make another. But there is no way they could better it. The scene where the guy sits down on the deck chair was the funniest.
I'm sorry, the username "Ijackoff" is not available. However Jack1141994 is available, would you like to use this instead?

I know this movie/board/thread/post is so damn obscure that no one will ever read this message, but I just had to point out that this post in particular got a good, hearty chuckle out of yours truly. So thank you for that, olearysteve.
