Wasn't the house destroyed at the end of 3?

So why is it back?

Perhaps it's one of those sequels like Halloween H20 or Texas Chainsaw 3D that pretends the previous films don't exist. Or perhaps the house's supernatural abilities makes it able to rejuvenate itself kind of like the house in Burnt Offerings. Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger are killed at the end of each movie yet they still come back, so why shouldn't the house be the same?

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

I always believed this movie took place between 1 and 3. If you remember in the opening of this there's still furniture in the house. In fact even in the little girl's room the tiny white rocking chair goes flying at a priest. In my eyes eveything from the Luz's was sold at the yard sale and the house stayed mostly empty and on the market until the lead from part 3 bought it. Amityville Curse only takes place in the same town, and does not feature the house. In It's about time you find out the house was destroyed and their planning on making track housing where it once stood. Which makes sense, the house was leveled, maybe some stuff was left behind - the clock, so the developer from its about time bought it going thru the wreckage.

My guess is they were just ignoring the previous stuff, only acknowledging the Amityville house long enough to create the connection with fans, and then just making their own film. Amityville 4 would probably get a lot more heat if it wasn't for the Amityville Curse movie that came out right after this.

The way I see it, the order of the first four movies goes 2,1,4,3. Perhaps after the lamp was destroyed, the evil returned to the Amityville house in time for part 3.
