the song while Hunter is dancing

Help!!I've seen this film when I was little, I remember a scene when Holly Hunter was dancing in the house and Dreyfus was watching her...I remember that was a beautiful song but I've never found the title!! Anyone knows? Thankyou

The song, I think, is "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" by The Platters. I hope that helps... :D You're Welcome..

the song is named "Smoke get's in your eyes" but the version song by the band when they danced was sung by J.D. Souther. I've always thought he sung it the best! I can not find his version anywhere though. the sound track for always was pulled off the markit. if you ever come across his version let me know!!

It is "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" - the composer was Jerome Kern. It first was heard in the 1934 Broadway hit, "Roberta" and was memorably sung by Irene Dunne.
(She recreated the role in the movie as well).

Hi. I just bought the Always soundtrack from amazon.com and it does have the
version sung by J.D. Souther. It's the first song on the soundtrack. It also has the one by the platters which is my favorite. You can buy it on either Amazon.com or Half.com or Ebay.

J.D. does sing it the best! He was the only reason I watched this film, actually. Unfortunately, after he appears, there's still two hours left.

The Platters rendition is incomparable.

There is a strange technical issue here actually. When Brad Johnson first plays the song, it's in a different key than when Holly Hunter plays it (on the same tape) about 1 minute later. Maybe they pitched it up/down for timing reasons?
