Lindsey's near ... (spoilers)?

I'm not a doctor, I never went to med school or anything like that or really care to, so maybe someone with more experience would know..

Lindsey was probably oxygen deprived for at least 10 minutes (estimate obviously) after drowning, wouldn't she have a very high chance of being brain dead if she in fact survived that? Thought it was a OK movie and all (not great) but this thought bothered me a little when watching the scene.

Just going off anecdotal stuff, but haven't there been cases of people being underwater longer than that and surviving without brain damage due to extreme cold?

At that depth, water is as cold as it can ever get without freezing, if I recall my high school physics correctly

About half an hour in freezing water is the most recent I can think of. They survived with their faculties intact
