I just saw reruns of this on TV. I saw this when it was out in the theater and I just loved this film. It totally worked for me and I thought hanks and the two neighbors were perfectly cast. I went back and forth throughout the entire film of believing they new family was sinister...no innocent and misunderstand....no, evil,...no falsely accused.

This never really seem to be that well received nor was it a hit but I always liked this film.

I wasn't a homeowner when I saw this as a teen in 1989, I am now...that one scene was freaky as a homeowner....having a live bee hive inside your walls! That would not stand. I'm out there all the time killing and spraying every wasp I see just to make sure they don't try and start a nest. I can't imagine an entire hive.
