The Final Show

Watched this series when it originally aired over 25 years ago, and just again recently. When watching the final episode, I seem to remember it differently. The one I watched recently ended with Noah's funeral, however I had it in my head that we actually saw what all the riders were moving onto with the closure of the Pony Express. I know we see Cody becoming a scout for the army and Lou and Kid married, but I thought I also saw where Buck and Jimmy were headed as well.

And, another weird thing. I had it in my head that before the end of the series, Anthony Zerbe (Teaspoon) left the show and was replaced by another actor.

I have searched and searched but there does not appear to be any hidden episodes anywhere so I am putting it down to me just having a really bad memory of how it ended. But it is bugging me a bit and I just want to make sure there are no extra episodes that are floating around out there.

Friend, get thee to the ginkgo biloba! Lol. Just kidding. What you recently saw was accurate...the wedding, the funeral, and all you described was wrapped up in the final two episodes. Cody did become a scout for the Army, and Anthony Zerbe remained Teaspoon till the end.

haha..was probably too much pot..which I used to smoke back then. Seriously though, I really did have it in my head how the ending went so when I re-watched it, I was definitely a tad confused. Weird how the mind can play tricks on you. :)

I never saw this program before today. Just saw my first episode. I love westerns but this was unbelievably bad. Talk about amateurish! One guy got shot and literally did prefect forward rolls down the hill. Really laughable.
Hard to imagine this show staying on the air for so long.

The show was awesome, especially Josh Brolin as Jimmy.

I had a friend get shot once and he did perfect rolls down a hill as well. My other buddy and I looked at each other, said (almost in unison) "Just like in The Young Riders!," laughed uproariously, and then went to check on our friend.

He made a full recovery. The doctor told him that his expert rolling down the hill is most likely what saved him.

Well I enjoyed watching it again so much that I am giving it yet another run through, though a bit slower this time. Sure, the stunts were standard (in line with a tv budget in the late 80's), the continuity is a bit lacking and one or more of the editors needs shooting at times, but if you put all that aside and just enjoy it for what it is, then it's a great ride.

Personally, I am over vampires, zombies, cop shows and reality tv. Doesn't really leave much so taking a step back in time with some good drama with an infusion of humour and a bit of eye candy is a really good night on the couch for me.

We were "bar-ditch" hunting one week-end (rabbits, birds), and my li'l bubba was over one wheel on the hood, his friend over the other. Shortly, my bubba's best friend, who was driving the old baby blue and wood-tone Ford station wagon, suddenly slammed on the breaks (no one knows for what possible reason), and my Bubs, holding a beautiful li'l double-barrel .410, went flipping end over end, in perfect rolls, for about 20 to 30 feet !!! Not a scratch on him ... and the shotgun didn't even fire !!! We were VERY fortunate !!!!
