Showdown

What do you think of this episode? I rewatched it the other night for the first time in a long time and it was much better than I remembered. I like the atmosphere and it's got a good twist at the end and I also enjoyed the gun battle later on. Notable for originally not being a TFTC episode and getting thrown in along with King Of The Road and Yellow as part of this show. A lot seem to dislike this but I enjoyed it much more this time around.

I've always liked this one. Yeah, it's out of the norm for the show, but I liked the change of pace. It does have a good atmosphere and style.

Same. I agree the Western setting makes it unique among the other episodes and it still has that Horror feeling to it.

Visually it is great, but the story goes absolutely nowhere. If it even has a story. It almost seems like they forgot to put a story into it at all.

It's basically about the main antagonist realizing he's dead and is in the same purgatory as the people he killed and how his violent way of life is what killed him.

I love this episode, although I didn't get it at first. It clicked for me on a rewatch when I saw that it was directed by Frank Darabont, because it stands right alongside Darabont's more famous works, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. All three of them explore the thin line that separates the "good guys" from the "bad guys".

It was actually directed by Richard Donner, Frank Darabont wrote it.
