When Did The Series "Go Bad"?

When did you think "Tales From The Crypt" went bad, assuming you think it got to that stage?

For me, and it seems I'm in the majority here, it had to be the final season in which they emanated from London, England. I've actually heard some fans say it started to go bad in the next to last season, but I personally didn't think so. While the eps in the final season weren't all bad, most didn't embody that T.F.T.C. vibe in the previous,(I believe) 6 seasons. I don't know, just my opinion.

Your take?

I think some traces started to show in Season 6, but Season 7 is where the show lost its footing. I like the season, but it's flawed and showed it was time to stop.

reply

^agreed. definite drop in quality. it was almost like a different series.

reply

Season 6, definitely. Felt like they lost interest and were just going through the motions by that point.

reply

Every single season has some bad episodes in it.

But the only time when the number of bad episodes completely overwhelmed the number of good ones is in Season 7.

reply

Season 6 had an overwhelmingly amount of bad episodes compared to good ones. I could barely sit through it.

I bet you're wondering what a place like this is doing in a girl like me-The Mummy

reply

Agreed. Seasons 6-7 showed the series going downhill.

reply

I kind of agree. Even though seasons 6 and 7 were the weakest seasons of the show, they both still had some great episodes. Just like, as others have pointed out, the seasons before the last two had some bad episodes.

It starts to run out of gas during season 5.

You think so❓

Season 5 and 2 were not just my favorites with exception to some Episodes scattered around in different seasons, but favorites according to many. At No point in season 5 did I ever think the Entire Run of TFTC Episodes would only be 2 seasons away from pulling the plug.

Seasons 5,2 and 3 were my Favorite in that Order. Seasons 1,4,6 and 7 followed.

Season 6 it Started to feel as though the End was not to far away and Imminent.

Season 6 for sure. Definitely a step down in quality guest stars too.

That didn't even occur to me but you're right, it seemed like even celebrities had no interest in appearing on the show.

reply

Seasons 6 and 7 still had a lot of celebs appearing in it.

Season 6. I actually don't think the decline from S6 to S7 is all that big, but you really notice the difference watching season 6 after you watch 5 (one of the best seasons).

I really miss this show. I thought Season 6 & 7 (Especially Seven) should not have even been made. Season 6 should have been the last. Although the Three Little Pigs in the Final Episode of Season 7 looked interesting.
