So gay latino stereotypes are still okay but Apu isn't?


Julio, the latino gay who says "Jess" for yes, and "Jew" for you, is still being voiced by Hank Azaria, who can't play Apu but apparently playing a latino gay guy is okay... For now.

What's the difference?

Apu is one of the series most iconic characters so of course he's a bigger target. Most probably don'd know who Julio is, at least not off the top of their heads. It's stupid either way, but such is the way of today.

Being LGBTQ+ makes Julio protected. Though that "o" at the end of "their" name is troubling since it is gender specific. "They" made have to change the name to Julix. #GetWoke
