Fantastic! I loved it. Simpsons in Ancient Rome, some history concerning Rome and a moral lesson of how much ambition you should pursue. Great. I also could see some parallels with Trump in the episode. One of the best recent episodes. I'm glad it wasn't 3 different tales of Rome, but one big story. The violence was strangely refreshing and a exploration in tone and boundaries. Almost akin to the violence in a Rick and Morty episode.

It was technically also a "future" version of the Simpsons (despite taking place in history), since Bart and Lisa get older in the story.

Hello fellow Simpsons fan. If you want any interest taken in your post, you must trash hard on The Simpsons. Suggested headings: Simpsons suck. They stopped being funny in 19__. Why is this still on? I haven't watched in __ years.

Whereas, the truth is, if awards are based only on merit, The Simpsons would have won not only the writing but the acting awards for a comedy almost every year!

Over the last couple of seasons, there's been a decent number of episodes ending in the afterlife ("Clown in the Dumps", "Bart's Not Dead"). It's crazy existential and I like it. The writers feel so existential now.

There's been a handful of good episodes generally too. I liked last year's thanksgiving episode.

That was the only one of S32 I watched based on description. I like it when they get out of Springfield and current times.

At least one of the ToH segments will be good tomorrow.

I'm not that much into the current times. In the last few years, how many movies are even set in the current year without a fictional premise? The current times are depressing: a global pandemic, terrible politics, kids are on technology all the time.

I don't care that the Simpsons haven't been in the present day in these 3 episodes. I live in the present day, I don't need to see it all the time. In fact, I wouldn't mind if the entire season was them doing history stuff.
