The Nightmare Cafeteria was one the most disturbing Halloween segments

When Lunchlady Doris killed Jimbo and the faculty ate him and not knowing at first they were eating him and when Mrs. Krabappel questioned Skinner if Jimbo was in the meat, they still ate him! Also when Uter was made into sausages, really sick!

I have never been the least bit scared or disturbed by anything that has ever appeared on The Simpsons. Maybe that is because I was already an adult when it debuted.

reply

I wasn't scared but disturbed by the idea of the faculty becoming cannibals eating the kids in the school, it is like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in a way.

reply

One of? It was the most disturbing segment they've ever done.

The ending of that treehouse of Horror episode when Bart and Lisa were about to fall into the blender was pretty intense until Bart woke up.

reply

That and "Terror at 5 1/2 Feet". Both freaked me out as a kid.

reply

That was an unsettling episode.

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan

yeah especially when Mrs. Krabappel gained like 100 pounds from eating all of those kids, ewww!

reply

It was one of the few that disturbed me as a kid, the other being The Shinning.

reply

Funny, I wasn't ever bothered by that one. "The Thing and I" featuring Bart's evil twin Hugo, and more recently, Bart going to school in Hell in season 26, though, were both horrifying.

Yeah that was disturbing in the canteen however a "regular" episode had some more disturbing imagery - the one where Ned makes a film and his son is all mangled and maggots pour out of Ned's mouth. Eugh.

reply

It is just disturbing when Lunch Lady Doris was holding the egg beater with that psychotic look on her face with blood all over her face and apron, really unsettling scene!

I was 13 when this episode aired and it reminded me of Blood Diner (1987), that Tales from the Crypt What's Cooking story and the 1993 Hong Kong cult shocker The Untold Story aka Bunman (See it on youtube to believe it).

You think that was gory, what about other adult animation like Watership Down, Heavy Metal, Wizards and Ninja Scroll? those were gorier.
