What timeframe did they film?

Starting with the second season, the intro had footage for Seasons 2 and 3. Then Season 3's intro had footage of Season 4 (notably the Pipe Dreams episode where they do the group high five).

My point and question is when did they film this? Seems like they filmed it in a short time period. I guess the timing in filming for shows was different back then than it is today.

Plus the posters that would pop up in a bedroom or the principal's office (Teacher/Student Week) got me wondering when things were filmed.

That's because the reruns had a new intro added on with the shots from later seasons. When originally aired, the intro had different shots in the early seasons.

On the DVDs, most of the episodes are the syndicated rerun versions, not the versions that originally aired. However, there are a few of the early episodes on the DVD sets that actually have the correct opening with the original shots.

Please stop.

On Gettyimages it looked like a lot of episodes were shot in the spring months but not aired until the fall. The dates of most photos were April and May even though the episodes aired in October/November.
