Question!!

Me and my friends love Ranma dearly, but we're curious...if he's so desperate to rid himself of the girl body, why doesn't he just swim back to China? He was going to in order to buy formula #911 for Akane, so wouldn't he be even more willing to swim there to get to the Nannichuan?? It just seems a little weird...

If were going with what makes *sense,* then by all logic Ranma should have just walked over and jumped into the Nanichiuan (ooh -- can't remember how to spell it. Sorry!) while they were still *at* Jusenkyo in the first place; but something tells me that having things make perfect sense isn't really the main pillar of this show... (*grin*)

The were out of money. Sure, Ranma and his dad could have traveled back to China on foot but they wouldn't have had any money to eat. If you remember, any episode that chronicled their trek back to Japan they had to beg, borrow, or steal just to keep from starving. Of course, that's just my thought on the subject.

This always bothered me a great deal: why didn't Ranma and Genma just have the guide take them striaght to the Spring Of Drowned Man right after getting cursed? And if they were able to get there once, why not again?

An easy way out of this (which the author did NOT take) would have been to simply say that once a person has fallen into one spring and taken on that spring's curse, it would be impossible to turn into anything else by falling into another spring. So say you're a guy who, like Ranma, fell into the Spring Of Drowned Girl. If you tried to jump into the Spring Of Drowned Man, since you already had a Jusenkyo curse the water in that spring or any other would just have the same effect as normal water; it would just turn you into a girl again. Of course, if Rumiko Takahashi had done this it would then mean none of the stories about Ranma and the other cursed characters trying to get back to Jusenkyo would've worked.
