How to start watching this?

This was on when I was in HS and I really didnt have any interest.

I'm a big buff of Time Travel books shows movies. So not sure why this never got on my radar.

I would like to start watching it. What is a good way to watch? Start episode 1 season 1 or is there any season to just skip?

You need to start from the beginning in my opinion mate to see how he first got into this situation, It shows you who hes leaped into at the end of each episode so it makes sense to watch them in order also a few episodes are 2-3 parters. Hope this helps.
Great series you should enjoy.

I too think that it is better to start at the beginning. But you can probably start anywhere. There are very few linear things in the show other than the Tag at the end, and that Al is an observer and a hologram, and Ziggy is a supper computer. But the pre-show introduction explains the basics. I think my favorite season is 4, it has all of my favorite episodes; when they switch places, the gay runner, where Al gets replaced by Roddy McDowall, the scrooged christmas episode, the rape episode. That is also when you started to get more info and visit the "present" I wasn't a fan of the Trilogy episode but I LOVED the Alia story arc. I like to think there would have more of the Evil Leaper if there was a season 6.

You and I are the same age but I loved the show when it originally aired.

The best way to start is to start with the first episode. Each episode builds on the last. Sam leaps in and at the end of the episode, he leaps out, into the next person. The ending leap starts the next episode, and so on and so forth.

This just started from the beginning again on COZI TV... they are on episode 4 as of tonight.... Misses the origin but gets you in on when Sam was still learning the ropes.

If you have a chance it is best to watch from the beginnning, if not this might help you out.

I mean, you might as well start at the very beginning. It's a very good place to start...

Well I'm going to go against the grain and say that it actually isn't necessary to start from the very beginning. The show is completely episodic and explains the basic premise at the beginning of every episode.

Furthermore while the pilot is great the first season is not. Aside from a couple of stand out episodes like episode 6: The Color of Truth, the first season is weak and has some downright awful episodes (episode 4: How The Tess Was Won is one of the worst ever)

I would actually recommend either starting with Season 2 (the first episode of season 2 actually explains the backstory of the show up to that point pretty well) and after a while if you feel you're enjoying the show maybe then go back to the very start. Or perhaps watch the pilot then jump ahead to Season 2.

The Pilot/Genesis is a good episode, but also has several points that help setup the rest of the series; who people are and what's happening.

Starcrossed is a decent episode.

The Right Hand of God is okay too; I especially liked the background it gave Al, and his story about his dad.

Double Identity isn't terrible.

The Color of Truth is good.

I love Camikazi Kid

Play it Again Seymour isn't terrible; it's a slight departure from the format, playing up the noire vibe, and the "reason" he's there isn't great, but overall it's a fair episode.

I mean, arguably the only real stinker is How the Tess was Won; and even that has it's moments. It's the ending that makes it really bad.

The first season is decent if you're already a fan and therefore know the show gets much better. We're talking about recruiting a new viewer and in my opinion most of Season one is pretty slow and still has one foot in that cheesy 80s Universal tv show style. It just doesn't quite live up to that great pilot.

Star Crossed is cute in its own right but as a second episode its pretty weak.

Right Hand of God is a snooze

I personally enjoy Double Identity a lot.

The Color of Truth was the first noteworthy episode

Camakazi Kid is a great one I agree

Play It Again Seymour is a guilty pleasure of mine but objectively its a pretty bad episode.

I don't know, my point was that I think you can come BACK to Season one after getting into the show via better, later episodes.

You can start anywhere. The first ever episode I watched was the last episode of Season 2. I later saw reruns of the earlier episodes. Outside of the odd reference to earlier episodes, it doesn't really matter what order you watch them in.

Saying that, I was watching it when it was originally on TV. So, assuming you have access to every episode, you might as well watch them in order. I think most shows are better if you do it that way.
