have you recognized the pattern?

for thoes who are wondering why there are only four movies, and seven books I think there is a clear solution. all four movies deal with the pensives. the magicians nephew and the the horse and his boy have nothing to do with the pensive s. [yes my theory does exclude the last battle]

except for the fact that edmund and susan are totally in the horse and his boy, right?

this is because CS Lewis wrote the books concerning/involving the pevensie children FIRST. the books are arranged into chronological order, not publication order. the movies follow the publication order. can you imagine MN as a movie? it would be WAY too boring and no one would want to watch the other movies.

reply

MN boring? I think not! It does have a different flavor than the others, but it's one of my favorites.

The Horse and His Boy is probably unfilmable; and certainly was in the early 90's.

The Last Battle is a pretty confused book and the most overtly religious and alienating.

The Magicians Nephew would have been a viable candidate; but it would be hard to imagine the BBC being able to stretch it to 4 parts let alone 6.

Eustace is technically related to the Pevensies

There's no technically about it. He's their cousin
