the old hag is not the witch. the witch is dead but her spirit is not TRULY dead, i think. the hag is just a hag, an evil creature who wants to vall the witch back..

they are diffrent people but in this series the same actress plays them

I always thought that it might be the White Witch. In the Magicians Nephew, the White White eats the apple from the tree which gives her immortal life. Aslans says in the book because she stole the apple, she will live a cursed life. So if the Witch cant die, you could presume that the old hag is the witch. One might even say that she is the same person as the green lady in the Silver Chair....

i think that the fact that the same actress plays all 3 character makes it clear that at least the bbc wanted to present jadis as an ever present force within narnia.

immortal usually means you cant die naturally like from sickness or old age. but you can be killed. its invincible when you cant be killed

the immortal thing might have something to do with how they are able to try and bring her back like they do in the new film

whose *beep* jizz is it!!!??

NO! NO! NO! Noooo!!!!! (Lol Just kidding.) But seriously though, the book makes it very clear that the hag is a totally completely separate character from the Witch. The Hag, Werewolf, and Nikabrik (the evil dwarf) attempt to reanimate the White Witch so she can defeat their enemies. So they are not the same person, or else the Hag would not need to bring back the Witch. Also, the Hag describes the Witch like she is clearly a separate and distinct person, so she is. Therefore, the Hag is NOT the White Witch.

I can see where this is a bit confusing, since Barbara Kellerman played both parts (as well as playing the Green Lady in 'The Silver Chair'), but I don't think they're meant to be exactly the same character. The Hag and her Werewolf sidekick want to call up the White Witch from the dead.

Is it just me, though, or is that kind of a weird sequence? It comes a little out of left field, and the scuffle is a little muddled. I know the badger killed the one dwarf and Caspian killed the hag when she attacked Dr. Cornelius, but I didn't catch who killed the wolf? And what was his deal anyway? I wonder what the point was for C.S. Lewis of bringing back a wolf as an evil character, echoing Maugrim. I loved the acting, though. Kellerman was wonderfully cloying as the hag, until the end when you realize her sweet, sing-song, fluttery voice is a total put on. The werewolf's transformation is really weird, though. I mean, what happens when the scuffle starts? He turns into something that almost looks like a monkey.
