Comment Steven made about Coupling

I was obsessed with this show when I first saw it - t.v. doesn't get much better than this. I still have a thing for Dexter Fletcher :)

I was reading posts on the Coupling message board and I saw that Steven Moffat had provided an 'ending' for the characters in that show. Interestingly when he got to Steve and Susan he mentioned that they were working on a new show but that he kept writing episodes of an old kids' show... I can't help but wonder :)

P.S. Did anyone else totally crack up when The Doctor said he was doing a "Fireplace inspection" in the Madame Pompadour episode????

He's probably talking about writing for the "Dr.Who" revival. I've spoken to Steven on Outpost Gallifrey and he's made it clear on many occasions that he considers "Dr.Who" a children's show. And by that he doesn't mean that it's immature or only for children, just that he thinks The Doctor is recognisably a children's hero and the show appeals to the childlike side of our personalities. Personally I agree with him.

Anyway back to "Press Gang". I know years ago Steven and Sandra C. Hastie talked about doing a reunion special, and back when they were working on Series 5 they were considering doing a spin-off where Spike and Lynda ended up as newsreaders on TV!! Although not out of the question I'd be surprised if they were to go back and revisit the "Press Gang" crowd now.

P.S. I thought that line was very amusing and well delivered by David Tennant :) One more Moffat episode for "Dr.Who" next year. Yay!!!!
