swearing in press gang.

Did anyone else notice? In series 2, colin gets those two girls, sophie and whatever the other one was called,to steal a story linda wrote in school.I can't remember the episode but it's a story linda wrote when she was younger, so it would embaress her.Colin is going to use it to blackmail linda, but this isn't the main story.Anyway,he's holding it and says something like "this is it, i've *beep* got her".The two girls don't even bat an eyelid.I watched the scene over a few times with the volume up and he really does say it.

Sorry, the censor has cut out what Colin said, maybe if you could give us a hint and I'll look on my DVD copy to see if mine's like that..

reply

I've watched it and he said I've finally got her, not I've effing got her..

reply

sorry about that. Stupid mistake. But they did say bitch a lot, that was quite strong for children's ITV.

I honestly never picked up on it. I think if used in the right context it can be done in a way that doesnt make it sound like swearing. I had strict(ish) parents who wouldn't let me watch The Simpsons up until I was about 10, but they had no problems with me watching Press Gang. Having said that, just a couple of years later I had no issues sitting down with them to watch Blackadder or The Life of Brian...
