Decent enough....Watching episode 3 now.

This is decent for a TV show based on a movie. Especially considering the seven year difference between the movie and the show. I have watched the pilot, episode 2, and now I'm watching episode 3.

I don't believe these actors could have made the movie what it was, but they are perfect for TV. That's how it is sometimes. Actors work for TV, but not film, and vice versa. Of course it goes for theater to film/TV, and vice versa as well.

It's a cute early 90's show. I don't think they would get a balance of corniness and toughness today, in 2014. I was born in '93, and grew up with some shows like this, so I'm a little biased. We all long for shows like this. Repeats of any 90's show make us happy. Even if I was almost 7 when the 90's ended.

I enjoy binge watching the series. The Outsiders (1990) reminds me of shows like Wind at my Back and The Wonder Years. The characters are just a little tougher.

The show has the characters do what you think they would, but then not exactly. The development is a little behind where the movie puts them. The Soc's and Greasers still hate each other, which is a bit of a plot inconsistency. Spoilers: In S.E. Hinton's book, 'That Was Then, This is Now', it's based in the same area as The Outsiders. A big rumble that made the fighting stop is mentioned, and Ponyboy is at a school dance or something. Maybe the show would have made things change. Although, no fighting would have been boring.
