Just asking, I know he comes out of the coma momentarily; but does Kit die at the end, or did he just pass out? Also, where was Helena in the final scene/credits? Was it a prison cell or a mental institution?

That last shot, of Helena unblinkingly staring into nothingness in her cell, is really very sad. Despite everything, she was a very lonely woman. Excellent stuff. "They're all Vesey's bastards!"

I assume they realized that Helena was behind Ruth's death and that George gets out of jail? That is not made clear in the film.
I have ordered the book. Love this show.
I have read the book, and while I don't recall George getting out of jail or the rest of the family figuring out Helena's involvement in Ruth's death (although I'm sure both are implied, if he was still alive once Helena's deeds came to light), it was stated explicitly that Kit would slowly recover.
I have a vivid mental picture of George leaving the prison, after his innocence was discovered, but I have no idea from whence it came. Could the recordings have left out some scenes? I remember watching the original, so maybe that's where the image surfaced?
