Helena

If Helena is so religious how come she accepts Denouta who is very tarty.
She does mention: they don't quite understand life like we the Brits do do they.

The poison Helena used in the flashback was it yew berries and would they mix with jam tarts and kill so easily. Was Helena schizophenic?

Is it true Isla Blair had nightmares in real life after ep 2 of the darkroom her fear was being buried alive.

I remember the 4th episode wrongly and seem to recall Helena trying to kill her grandchildren, but it was the twins. innikins don't like marzipan so she was willing to take a calculated risk they eat it. I thought as a boy she used broom to poison the kids, the broom bushes scared thereafter.

I met Isla Blair once, and mentioned Mother Love to her. She said "Oh yes, Diana Rigg was beastly to me in that!". (I assume she meant "on screen", rather than giving me a bit of backstage gossip).

In the book, Helena was trying to kill the children of her former husband. He had married a much younger woman after Helena killed his second wife by sealing her in a darkroom.
