I thought her overacting was cringe-making. I saw Diana Rigg on stage in Auckland a few years ago and she was the same, the only one of the cast whose grimacing you could make out from up in "the gods" -- maybe even without aid of makeup to delineate and exaggerate her facial expressions. Oh for the days, Diana, when you were just a cool, beautiful mask in those Avengers tv appearances. Less was more, because we could read what we liked into your self-satisfied smirk (which probably came across accidentally because of your inexperience, a la Lauren Bacall in "To Have and Have Not").

^ Perhaps the role demanded 'over-acting'. It's hard for an actor to gauge their performance in an unfamiliar theatre.

I think Diana Rigg poured every delicious and satisfying bit of venom into the role that she could muster and I am glad she did. I have just been watching this again on You Tube. Also from New Zealand by the way as was previous message.

She certainly did not overact.

Its that man again!!

I thought it was amazing. Great story and every single person in the cast just nailed it. But then, I've had a crush on David McCallum for fifty years...lol.
