Strange last episode.

Taped it off the TV,then lost it! Can't say much without spoiling things for others.
A VERY well written show.Loved Marion.Who's seen the wonderful Christmas special with the Mini-Mart-Manager's-Son?

I saw it recently, thanks to someone's generousity! It was a bit weird to get used to seeing two new episodes of Marian, when i've practically memorised the others.

aw, so you've lost Journey to the bottom of the forest? I think it's one of my least favourite episodes, but it's still got it's moments!

Yeah, the last episode really isn't my favourite either. Shame really, because it ended on a less than perfect ending, but it was a clever episode, that bit about the bread was smart on many levels.

what happened? i cant remember.
dont think it matters about spoilers. almost every one who would come here would prob have seen it and its not shown anymore so...

Okay, spoilers ahead, major ones.

Starts off with them stuffing up a holdup because Rabies fell asleep. the Royals go to a boat fair, and Marian and the gang hijack the boat on the Royals way back, as the Royals push it back through the forest. They're on the boat, and suddenly they fall down a cliff, and are washed onto a shore. They've been taken to another dimension "Engyland" and "Workflop" where the Sheriff is actually nice for a start. And there's a witch who's taken over the area. And there's a prophesy that a man called Rabies will save them. All their personalities start reversing. Marian becomes ditzy "Oh don't ask me, i'm just a girlie, has anyone seen my blusher?". Robin becomes brave, Barrington loses his cool and cries all over the place, Little Ron is suddenly peaceful and a pacifist, and Rabies is intelligent and well spoken.
And it ends up with Rabies waking up, and then suddenly it's back to the start of the show, where he's stuffed up the holdup, because he was asleep and dreaming. And then they see a boat sailing through the forest. "here we go again!"
So, it ends up in a sort of... loop.

Yeah, I remember that one well. It was a good ep, but I wish they'd done something else for the last one...

reply

Yeah, this is my least favourite episode. It just isn't Maid Marian, I didn't like the fantasy element at all. The series should have ended on The Nice Sumatran which was brilliant. Ah well - can't be perfect all the time...
