Yes, it is better than Monty Python.

I said it too.

And I've seen almost all the Monty Python shows (TV and movies). I love much of the Monty Python stuff, but if I was going to sit down and watch one or the other it would be KITH.

Totally agree!

I'd be curious what any of the Pythons thought of this show...

Upright Citizens Brigade is > Kids in the Hall > Monty Python.

Love your user pic, I think Aguirre might be my favorite movie ever!

No love for SCTV????

reply

SCTV had it's moments, but it wasn't as consistently funny as the Python sketch show. It would rank somewhere between "SNL" and "Inside Amy Schumer" on the quality scale, if you ask me.

reply

Upright Citizens Brigade is very good, but Cheese Shop or Architects (Abbatoir) Sketch good, no.

I'd also put 'The League of Gentlemen' over Monty Python as well, along with TKITH of course. And I'd also put 'TLOG' ahead of 'TKITH' too, as it's my favorite show ever. But of course I do love TKITH!

YES. Actually, it's not a battle at all, MP is boring most of the time.

reply

This show is not better than MP. It's different. No need to make it a competition; they were both great absurdist shows in their own right.

reply

KITH is certainly a more universal appeal. You have to research British history to understand half of what Monty Python is on about. Makes it very dated and insular.

reply

It's great, but it's no Monty Python... but in all fairness, I would avoid situations that make me choose one or the other. Those sound like relationship-breakers.
