This kid has this puppet dinosaur that is chasing him and at one point this crate with all these Fish fall on him? If not what movie is that?

Are you thinking of Monster Maker, with the machanical dragon? Of course, I haven't seen it since I was 9 (18 years ago), so I can't be of much help.
