The worst part is I cant remember ANYTHING! I lie- the only thing i remember is the chair and something about bellybutton fluff? Help me out?!

You guessed it, another Australian wanting this series.

Were they willing to copy them all? I wonder what the quality would be like....

I'd say it's just about worth that 50 quid...

Yet another aussie here, i actually was floating through my local network video and happened to see 2 videos of it, only problem was at the time i didn't have a vcr -_-
So yeah, call around some of the dodgier movie stores and you could get lucky..

reply

Well, I guess I'll be really unoriginal, but I'm another Aussie desperately looking fot the series. It is brilliant. I had the first series recorded on vhs but I've watched it so much it has deteriorated terribly. My local library used to have it but said they got rid of it years ago. Fools. What a shame Channel 4 isn't going to release it. A thousandd curses on Channel 4.

All episodes are available for download from demonoid.com

The tricky part is that you have to register.
I don't quite understand what the policy is, but it seems like they open registration to everyone on Fridays (?) Hmm.

Worth checking out.

There are also some on youtube, and some others available for download from another website:

What is it with all the Australian’s and desperately wanting Grim Tails? I'm one too. I have been looking for ages.... Mayhap we can send email after email to the BBC and they will put it out on DVD. Hay it worked with getting the Goodies to come out, you never know!!

reply

thats a good idea. we'll ask the BBC :D

i cant find it here in england either. which sucks because thats how faded my memory is :(

reply

Not an Aussie, but a Brit desperately seeking this series as well!
I used to have the cassettes (audio cassettes) but they are very old, is the series on video anywhere?????

reply

another aussie here wanting this on dvd.

reply

Whoah, another aussie here too!

With my twin sister! We grew up watching these- stopped when the video rental copies became unwatchable, and the video store went out of business; unfortunately we weren't there when they were literally giving away all their VHS's and DVDs FOR FREE, away.

:( But we're going to try and download them off youtube, or a torrent site; then burn it to a DVD.

It is pure classic. No one makes anything like this anymore!

That wouldn't work, The BBC don't and have never owned it... Channel 4 do. or more importantly whoever owns Initial Films

reply

oh man possibly the best childrens tv show ever created. coming in second the trap door i reckon.
naturally im another aussie who grew up on this show. i doubt they'd put this sort of program
on kids channels in this day an age ohh what a time we live in... im too young to start saying that ohhh what a world!

They're avaliable for watching on youtube if anyone's interested... just search Rik Mayall Grim Tales :)

This was probably one of the best shows ever. I live in the US and my sisters and I watched this show religiously when it was on. We had one of those old shool satellite dishes and would try to desperatly tune in the station to watch when the show aired. I can't explain the feeling the show gave me then and still does. I swear it felt like Christmas morning each episode.

We taped each episode as it aired and rewatched (even though several episodes were almost pure static; bad weather ;) until the tape was unwatchable. I love love love this show....and Rik is just brilliant...

I shall go to torrents since I have been searching for a Tape/DVD forever....

I have a copy of this on DVD copied from VHS If anyone would be interested in getting copies of the DVD I could send you them if you get in touch. I'm not bothered about price as long as you pay the postage. This was my fave show when I was a kid and I managed to find a box set on ebay!
