Remake it as a series of movies

It's a great show and I love it, but there are so many things wrong with it during the second half. It would be great if Gainax remade it as a series of movies like Anno is currently doing with NGE.

I agree, but unfortunately that's not too likely to happen, since Anno doesn't exactly have fond memories working on "Nadia". He kept on getting pushed around by the NHK executives, and his studio even shredded the scripts and made their own version. Another thing too is that NHK has the rights, not Gainax, so the chances of them remaking it as a series of movies isn't too high. Which I find pretty sad.

You are right, though; NADIA would work really well as a series of movies. I had actually heard that Anno would have taken this approach if he were doing the film version of NADIA, by creating a major reworking/revamp of the dreaded Island/Africa sequence, saving only ep. 31 of that portion. Unfortunately, NHK wanted to tell a new story, and so the resulting mess now known as "The Secret of Fuzzy" emerged as a result of two clashing sides. Given how the movie underwhelmed just about everybody (I didn't find it as horrific as eps. 26, 32, and 33, but it still WAS pretty bad and forgettable), a revamp would definitely be called for (but who knows if that's gonna happen)?

The closest Anno came to doing a "revamp" was a compilation called "The Nautilus Story", which centers mostly on the Nemo VS Gargoyle conflict, cutting out ALL the filler episodes except 31. Too bad that was only a LaserDisc Japan only release, though.
