hi can anyone remember chimera in 1991 and im wondering if this is in the same sort of style or sense as that i dont think ive seen this but have chimera and enjoyed it again all these years later do you think i would enjoy this aswell.

I remember Chimera and this. Chimera was much more suspenseful, more of a horror and this was more about the moral side of the whole genetic debate, more of a drama. Both are classic oldschool British t.v though, to be enjoyed for their own merits (whilst equally ignoring how sadly dated they look now, that kid in the monkey suit made me cry laughing when I saw it again on the sci-fi channel the other week).
What we are dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.
I don't know if this is the same movie-- I saw it when I was maybe 3 or 4. but is there a part when the boy is older and he's picking up fruit and sniffing it before eating it? also, was there some sort of incestual thing going on with him and his sister? or am I thinking of a completely different movie?? help me please!
shareYup! You nailed it - he does sniff all his food & it turns out the donor sperm was from Charles Dance's Dr. Forester so Gar & Nell (Gabrielle Anwar, no less!) were half-siblings.

Indeed, First Born and Chimera are two programs i distinctly remember watching from that time. Am currently trying to track them down to add to my dvd collection.
sharei own a copy of the chimera vhs movie version that was released, i found it at a flea market and getting it on dvd will be quite hard, but you can buy first born from hmv if you check there website you should find it.
but i dont think you will get chimera unless you find someone who has the full four tv episodes on vhs taped or if you catch it on the sci-fi channel when its on once in a while like i did.

yep i remember Chimera ,was actually a good series and a few years later i did my prosthetics make-yp training with Little John ,who was one of the effects techs on the series and saw the baby that was used for the final episode .
