There was one sketch which had them making fun of Princess Diana and Prince Charles in a restaurant. It is one of the funniest skits I have ever seen but I can't remember what they said, I just remember laughing non stop.
To bad I can't remember more about it cause I wanted to see it again.

reply

i thought the SBS skits were funny & the Out takes were really funny at the end of the show...

"one sketch which had them making fun of Princess Diana and Prince Charles in a restaurant."

Er....somehow doubt that sketch will be on the "best of " DVD.

Watching this late at night in 90's Britain, didnt get many of the references

1) the SBS highlights was funny. Didnt know what SBS was but guessed it was an arts network like Channel Four in the UK

2) There was a sketch where a presenter paused for so long when asking a question that paramedics rushed on set, gave him CPR, gave up and pronounced him dead, covered him with a blanket, then he asks the rest of the question.

3) Marge Downey as a very stern current affairs presenter.

SBS is/was the nations multicultural TV network. At the time it was fairly new and viewed with a bit of suspicion - until people learned they could watch nudie films on there without the guilt!!

These days SBS is much loved, has much greater production value and a really good variety of overseas and home grown content across 4 channels. News from all areas of the world, the nations best current affairs, brilliant comedy and drama, but sadly no Mexican soap operas any more. I really miss those.

The Brides of Satan is my all time favourite.

reply

Laugh so hard at that Brides of Satan, every time I see it I still have never got to see the whole scene.

Liked all of Magda's.
The bogan Magda complaining about having to help someone, just because they have terminal cancer.
Magda as the old lady saying "Wat!"
Magda and Keith Moon as the South African swingers

No cash here!! Here, no cash!!! Cash, no!!!! Robbo? No Cash!
