I hate Vinnie

Vinnie is a pain in the ass who is the reason for most of Doogie's trouble in the first season. I mean what's the point of him being around?

reply

I agree. he is SO annoying.

reply

To get Doogie into trouble? It's the same reason they put such abrasive characters on reality shows. Creates friction.

reply

Vinnie is a good friend, and someone who provides balance to Doogie's personality.

I agree.. If anyone, I hate Wanda...

I feel like I ate the sun!!

reply

I agree. I just couldn't stand Wanda. Then again, to each his own...

Her voice and demeanor were very redundant and downright annoying. [in a raspy low voice] "Hey Dooghhhie..."

reply

THANK YOU!!! SHE TALKED LIKE SHE WAS CHEWING HER FACE!!!!

Reading the paper can really be depressing. Mr. Dithers fired Dagwood again.

reply

Vinnie was awesome.

They grew up on the same block. But the blonde kid has an all-american accent and the dark-haired kid has a brooklyn accent. what a strange zip code that must have been.

I notice that every once in a while in movies and TV shows, especially if there's a kid who's supposed to be the "tough kid"; chances are he'll have a New York accent even if he's suppose to be from Wisconsin or something.

I like Vinnie too...he provies some comic relief when Doogie is in a very frustrating and serious situation.

reply

Reminds me of a junior Joe Peschi.

reply

Watching the show in re-runs the whole character/actor seems like an out of place addition/casting choice.

reply

I love Vinnie, he's so cool in 109 with Wanda's Cousin.
And Wanda is just gorgeous...

reply

I don't give a *beep* if Vinnie was a saint. Vinnie is hands down one of the most annoying characters in television history

reply

Vinnie is adorable! I love him! He brings comic relief to the show, and he is nice to look at! Very stereotypical Italian guy which I find appealing!

I recently started watching this show (Thank you, Antenna TV ☺) as I was working nights during its original run and then it just wasn't on anymore. I always had this vague opinion that it was a cute show. But then as I continued watching it, I realized something: Vinnie is, in some ways, smarter than Doogie. But Doogie doesn't like that. The fact that Vinnie is his very best friend in the world adds to that sense of tension. I honestly find Vinnie's character very refreshing, and in the later seasons, more dimensional and layered. I wish this show could have continued for at least a couple more years to further develop the characters.
