Low Hanging Fruit

I remember watching the first season with interest back in the late 80s, but back then it was more intimate as we got to know the arresting officer and some of his background as a human being.

It quickly digressed into a fetish-type of series where viewers could revel in watching lower class people making asses of themselves while under the influence either in public or operating a vehicle. It showed more about the viewing demographic than actually showing America how L.E. was establishing Law and Order when in fact it gives off the impression that America is a vast wasteland of ne'er do wells.

Indeed.

From what I've read they would visit the same trouble spots over and over knowing there would always be a fight or drugs or some drama going on.

"It showed more about the viewing demographic"

Yeah, that's a no. Criminals will always be worse than people watching them be criminals. ALWAYS.

It was an entertaining documentary series. It had it all: action, drama, comedy, education - it was simply entertaining to watch.

Thanks for proving my point about the viewing demographic. You represent the very nature of why this drudge was popular for so long.

Clearly I deserve to be in jail as much as, if not more than, the criminals featured in the show.
