too many episodes seems to be about people arrested for drug possession

Lately the show COPS seems to focus a little too much of people getting arrested for minor drug possession and I'm kind of tired seeing people getting busted just for a small amount of drugs.

Well it's the law! For now I suppose. They do have leniency in may places to let them off with a ticket for small possession of weed. Assuming they don't have other warrants already or run or resisted.

reply

That is true but I want to see more episodes of cops catching robbers, burglars, car thief's and those who commit serious crimes, not those having a little bit of pot, meth, crack.

reply

If they applied the same standards to jaywalkers as they do to minor drug users, they'd be shooting every grandma and kid crossing the street too slowly. It's pathetic.

reply

They probably would not show it due to it being violent, for whatever reason. There is obviously a reason why they are only showing what they have shown.

Better watch out, better start crying. Better hurry up, run and hide. Krampus is coming to town! >:)

You're watching dumb street patrol cops, not detectives. Uniform cops aren't smart enough to catch real crooks...they catch crack heads aND town drunks.

I noticed this too. It went from them dealing with white trash and trailer parks to busting low level drug users. That's what makes the money for the county though, I assume that's why. Just going and telling the trash to stop arguing doesn't bring any money in, but busting the same drug users over and over does.

I would prefer more variety of crimes than seeing someone getting arrested for a small amount of drugs (enough for personal use).

I also notice that the officers seem to be fishing for the truth while dealing with the drug users.
