The one officer I've thought was a total prick was Joe Frentess from Des Moines, IA (Season 14), he was the officer who pulled over a young male and his buddies for a minor traffic violation and while dealing with the perps he was being a total jerk the whole time yet the perps were trying to be as kind and respectful towards him, I think that was the only episode he appeared in.
Saw that segment on YouTube and the majority seem to agree that Frentess was a jerk. Many people wonder how he'd act with no camera around him.
I'm hoping since he appeared once that he could've just had a bad day. If he appeared in 3 different segments and acted the same in all of them, I'd likely believe that he's a very bad cop with power abuse overall. I see he's now a Sgt. so hopefully, he's matured, although some higher-ranked officers can still have their own problems.
I would have liked to see Frentess appear in at least two more episodes to see what kind of cop he really is, I do wonder how his fellow officers feel about him, Frentess strikes me as someone who wasn't good at anything growing up and is taking his anger and frustration out on the suspects due to him being treated like a lesser person in his younger years, I do hope Frentess has matured after being a Sergeant or has gotten called out by his superiors for his behavior.
I remember Officer Mathis being a lot more calm in one of the more recent episodes than he was in the Season 19 episodes.
Frentess reminds me of someone who might have been bullied in school or became a cop to crave power. I think he was almost a rookie in that episode.
Mathis seemed more calm in that segment because it was a less intense segment. He seems to be more of a jerk in intense situations, like Brian Clark.
I have to agree with you that Mathis does seem to be more calm in the later segment since it was a less intense situation, I didn't think the episode with the stalker boyfriend was all that intense, I liked Demps because he does seem to have a good natured personality and is fun to watch.
I wouldn't be surprised if Frentess was almost a rookie in that episode since he did appear to be young, he does remind me of someone who might have been bullied in school or didn't get accepted by certain groups of people and became a cop to crave power, I wonder why Frentess didn't appear in any other segments.
Also how did you like Valentino Demps (Jacksonville narcotics officer, Season 13 and 16)? Me I liked him because he seems to be cool and nonchalant, oddly people seem to talk crap about him because they're busting those who are purchasing drugs from them, plus he does seem genuinely interested in wanting to see the drug users get clean.

shareI saw the one domestic with Lori Wilson and the domestic violence victim. Some people on YouTube believe she deserved to go to jail as she was still with her boyfriend despite being an abuser with her child around, others thought it was bad that they actually arrested a victim instead of the suspect. Technically she was arrested for interfering with the investigation, but it still upset me with the way they treated her, and it's a shame because I like Lori in her other segments.
shareI'm surprised to see the level of hatred and bashing Officer Robert Cameron of Indianapolis (Season 12, Episode 8) seems to be getting, he appeared in the final segment of the episode where he was chasing a young motorcyclist who fled on foot, later he goes to a disturbance call between a male black and a white female, the female taps Officer Cameron and he ends up arresting her, he also calls her out on her attitude change once she'd gotten arrested because before getting arrested she was angry at the male black, once getting handcuffed the male black was all the sudden no longer her problem, Officer Cameron felt it was best for her to go to jail which I agree.

shareEspecially with the woman's personality change once she got put in handcuffs, Officer Cameron wasn't gonna put up with her BS, I didn't blame Cameron for being angry over her putting her hands on him, while he was annoyed having to deal with her he still treated her with respect.
shareI'm surprised to see a few people bashing on Officer Jason Horton (Riverside, Season 15), he was the lead officer who dealt with a man who was having problems with his ex girlfriend who attacked him with the knife, then they were detaining his ex girlfriend who appeared to be a drug user, I personally thought he was decent towards the couple and was surprised he didn't arrest the ex girlfriend, they thought Officer Horton was a jerk for telling the girlfriend that her ex boyfriend wants nothing to do with her anymore.
I think he genuinely wanted the girlfriend to get clean.
I actually saw the segment with Dick Adkins, and I personally didn't find him arrogant at all, he actually was laughing a little bit.
shareI remember another member of the COPS site back in the IMDB days had a major disdain towards Dick Atkins, looking back I actually thought he was a decent officer with a lighthearted personality, Atkins reminds me of one of the managers at my previous job.
Which episode did you see Dick Atkins in? I loved the episode where they arrested a black male for fleeing after the suspect was taunting the officers.
The one with the 60-some-year-old driver who had sex with a prostitute in his car. He needed to do a bank run but wanted his wife to do it once he got arrested. You kind of thought he was arrogant that he wouldn't let the guy do the bank run. I didn't think so.
shareI think the reason why I thought the officer was being arrogant for not letting the suspect do the bank run is because I saw the situation from another person's perspective, looking back I realized Officer Atkins was professional and respectful towards the elderly suspect, he did seem to have a sense of humor while dealing with the suspect, I also find myself not feeling sorry for the elderly suspect because he's married and has been arrested in the past, I wonder if his wife left him or not.
On the Kansas City (Season 10) episodes I really enjoy watching the episodes with Officer Tony White.
Tony White is really great. I thought he was funny with the pigs in the house segment.
Did you see Deputy Dowlearn's response? He gave an interesting response about what had happened with the guy in the stolen vehicle in which you thought Dowlearn was aggressive. I really understood why he reacted the way he did.
The episode with the pig in the house is one of my favorites, you could tell he and the officers were enjoying themselves trying to get the pig out of the house.
I did not see Officer Dowlearn's response about what happened with the guy in the stolen vehicle where Officer Dowlearn was aggressive, there are people who thought he was a jerk towards the suspect who tossed a small bag of marijuana out in the bushes but I disagree with them on that, I thought the suspect made a fool of himself in that segment.
I didn't feel sorry for the guy who tossed out his weed as he could've gone home with a ticket but turned it into something. Dowlearn was cool I thought in that segment.

shareAnother officer who I thought was very rude and showed some contempt and disdain towards the criminals was Officer Jorge Castello (Miami, Season 9), on S09e01, first segment he seemed agitated and stressed out while pursuing a pair of robbery suspects in a motor vehicle, he was even being rude and agitated towards the person giving out information to him while on pursuit.
On S09e03, first segment he was being rude and openly disdainful towards the three suspects who had a bunch of stolen VHS tapes in the trunk of their vehicle, he was also being very impatient towards the three suspects.
On S09e04, second segment he was being rude and condescending towards a couple who were in a high drug area, the male suspect starts flipping out while being searched by the other officers and ends up getting arrested, while the female suspect was getting released she grabs her food in a bag and the lead officer gets on her case for grabbing the bag which also had crack cocaine and a little bit of marijuana, then he starts joking to the other officers about how she's not very bright after she gets arrested.

I see Tony Moreno of Pittsburgh got charged as a civilian in 2022 for aiming and threatening someone with a firearm over someone who had dogs that wasn't allowed to own them. He claimed that he would never do such a thing and the charges were later dropped, but knowing how rude and aggressive he acts towards suspects in his COPS segments, I wonder if it's really a surprise.
I don't think he appears in any more segments, I thought he was the worst in the segment with the drug addicts getting pulled over in a white SUV, especially towards the female suspect, I agree he doesn't seem to have any empathy towards the criminals, my favorite Miami/South Florida officer from Season 9 is Von Grant.
