How much resisting is there really?

I was watching a rerun this morning and it seemed to me that as they were piling on and punishing a perp with knees to the neck and arm twisting while shouting "stop resisting stop resisting" they were just saying that to provide an excuse. The perp wasn't really resisting.

I have no problem with cops punishing criminals but certain ass hole cops extend this kind of behavior towards law abiders as well.

Maybe. It's a tough call sometimes.
You have to remember that in a situation where you do not know who the bad guy is and you must psychologically take control of the scene immediately. Sometimes this includes physically. And that is a technique and skill that has to be learned and controlled. It also has to be applied differently with different humans. Some humans submit immediately because it is in their nature or they are cognizant enough of a situation to know it is for their own safety to let the Police be in control until the situation is understood. Other humans who have trouble with authority are not even capable to make safe decisions when being detained. It can get out of hand very quickly.
Police have to get it right the first time and when more than one is trying to secure a scene it can get even more chaotic.

What season?

All I see are people resisting. Pretty much every black guy resists, they refuse to give up their hands for cuffs and then yell "Im not resisting,I'm not resisting" when they are.

If they wont loosen their hands so they can be cuffed, they are absolutely resisting.

The repeats that air on CW everyday are just the "best of" from different seasons. All seem to be before 2010.
