Who else didn't like Dale?

I wouldn't go as far as saying that I hate Dale, but I just didn't like him. Even now as I am rewatching the episodes on youtube, I still don't like him. All he really does is goof around and follow the other rescue rangers around. Sometimes he'll help out, but he also gets in the way sometimes. For the most part he really doesn't do much, and in that sense he's kind of like Shaggy & Scooby; Just being present, doing something dopey but rarely actually contributing.

Most of the work was accomplished by everyone else. If Dale wasn't there they may have just been better off.

I see your point. However, to be fair one would say modern cartoon characters are more annoying. Dale is the easy going one that isn't as smart, but they over did that at times. There are episodes where he saves the such as The SS Drain (he rescues the others), and Dale Beside Himself (he is able to keep the aliens from blowing up earth). In Catteries Not Included Dale came up with the idea of making a fake transporting cat to attract what was taking the other cats for example. Sometimes they made Dale's stupidity to extreme. But looking at that scene in Pied Piper Power Play I came to see in that scene Dale was trolling Chip. This is scene when Dale acting like he dosn't know whose toothpick it is ends that scene by saying "It also helped that Montery showed it to me this morning." Since I grew up on this cartoon I hope they decide to redue it and not be extreme on Dale. I have no problem with Dale enjoying life and being easygoing.

That was a nice summary.
Dale was able to save the day occasionally, which is very good and all.
Most of the time though, he would be more likely to just be a goofball and not contribute with much.
But I must say that Chip was my favorite on this show, so I never cared much about Dale.

Not me.

After seeing all those Disney cartoons where Chip 'n' Dale just randomly provoke Donald Duck I hated both of them with a passion!

You want to play the game, you'd better know the rules, love.

Yay, Chip 'n' Dale!
Boo, Donald!

I actually liked him. He was a goof off, and being an industrious person I don't particularly like that aspect of him, but he's loyal to a fault, kind-hearted, and a good person. He's also funny; if he can't think of the right answer, he goes for a funny one. It earns a whack on the head from Chip usually, but it's worth it (mainly because that's one of the few areas on his body where it doesn't really matter ;) ).

I'd also say he contributes in a way. He is sort of the team morale officer; he helps keep the team spirit up, which encourages them and helps them accomplish their missions. Gadget has stated once that when he's not around they actually miss his goofy self, which shows that at least she values him as a member of the team for his uplifting spirit.

This isn't entirely unrealistic, either. In real life teams, it's the goofy or funny guy who helps make the work seem lighter. He might not contribute as much as the rest, but he's usually missed when he's gone.

dale is much more likeable than chip, chip reminds me of a very uptight control freak, no sense of humor and only good for being bossy

reply

I see what you mean, but I guess that Chip felt that it was up to him to make sure that things went smoothly.
That is why he liked to have things under control.
