I recently stumbled upon some CAPTAIN N comics during an eBay search. I had no idea there was a comic book series as well. Anyone ever read it? Were they adaptations of CAPTAIN N episodes or original stories?

All-new stories, set in an alternate universe. Mega Man, Simon, Dr. Wily, and the Count (basically, any non-Nintendo characters) are absent. Samus Aran is added to the N Team, and Uranos from "Kid Icarus" is added to the bad guys.
There are five confirmed issues (supposedly, a #6 exists and was advertised in #5, but it's been unconfirmed to actually have seen the light of day).
In addition to the five main issues, Captain N and Metroid stories appeared in some issues of "Nintendo Comics System", which was published at the same time.
